Gold

Margaux is targeting areas of elevated Gold on the Jersey-Emerald.

Gold Exploration

Gold on the Margaux’s Jersey-Emerald property is hosted within skarn altered sediments that are similar in appearance, mineralogy and geochemistry to the Buckhorn gold skarn in Washington State (7.7 Mt @ 6.2 g/t Au; 1.5 Million oz Au).

                                                                                                                                                                                         Jersey Skarn

Buckhorn Au Skarn

Widespread skarn alteration on the Jersey-Emerald property occurs in Cambrian limestone and calcareous sediments that occur as a large roof pendant above a Cretaceous intrusion. The Jersey-Emerald tungsten mineralization is part of this skarn event. Tungsten mineralization on the property occurs in a proximal part of the system, near the intrusive contact, while gold is associated with late quartz-carbonate veins (and with bismuth, bismuthinite, pyrite and pyrrhotite) within garnet-pyroxene skarn in a more distal part of the system.

Significant gold results have been returned from drilling on the Jersey-Emerald property (as shown in the following table), including 24.98 g/t Au over 10.2 m at the King Alfred Gold Zone. This area is beyond the limits of any historic mining on the property and is a priority target for further work.
